Fort Bragg Workshop 2021 Monday October 11 - Friday October 1 Join us in Mendocino County this fall for a wonderful week of creativity!
Christine Mac Shane will work with you to create your own paintings and sketches of this vibrant coastal area. Capture the hustle and bustle of Noyo Harbor, the serenity of the Botanical Gardens and the panorama of the many beaches and cliffs. The town of Mendocino boasts rows of storybook houses, water towers and gardens ready for framing. Even the cemeteries host a history worth capturing. Each day will start with an hour or more tutorial on techniques and the focus on the day’s location. We will work for 3 hours (or more if needed), taking lunch and breaks.
Materials: Christine will be teaching in watercolor, acrylic and sketching so bring your favorite or, bring them all! We will be close to bathrooms and parking so just remember you will need to pack and carry what you bring, including...
Sunscreen/hat or umbrella
Water for you and for your painting
Easel or sturdy board
Art supplies - pencils, pens, brushes and paint
If you are new to painting, please contact Christine for suggestions.
Acrylic artists - I would suggest that instead of hauling canvases try priming water color paper with three coats of gesso. You can attach these to a clip board instead of an easel and they store easily and can be framed or adhered to a canvas later.
Fort Bragg has an art store called Spunky Skunk (it is a toy store as well) so don’t worry if you change your mind or forget something.
Accomodations - The reason we are putting this out early is to ensure that you will be able to secure accommodations in the area. Now that COVID is slowing down, it is harder to get reservations, so book early!
Workshop fees - Include daily tutorials as well as hands on assistance during on site work:
$65 per day $320 if you book before September 11th, 2021
$80 per day flat rate per deum when booked from September 12, 2021
